Choosing the unassembled wheelbarrow gave the children an opportunity to make sense of various parts, grasp inscrutable instructions and how a group could work together to assemble a wheelbarrow.
This process had just enough difficulty to keep everyone interested and was so much fun we could have had 10 to assemble and everyone would have been very happy.
